Okay one more thought here is that for many of the people who’d make such a statement “bullies and popular kids” is a euphemism for racial minorities and women because that’s who’s popularly cast as the dumb jock and stupid cheerleader a lot of these people used to justify their bigotry.

Indeed. The UK's music and subculture history is in a way a sad story. Windrush in 50s/ 60s brought different cultures and ideas. So many embraced it but 70s and 80s ruined it with far right adopting the skinhead uniform and "recruiting" from struggling working class communities, blaming immigration

Very fair. Is an EV automaker an automaker that *only* makes EVs? Or one that *also* makes EVs? I just haven't seen a traditional automaker fully commit at the level that is required. As in, say, "We will sell our last gas-only car in 2030." It's too scary for people to contemplate.
