Russel Vought is trying to destroy American Science. As part of this he’s trying to limiting foreign collaborations. We had fantastic collaborators on my most recent pub. For only $2000 of investment they did $50000+ worth of work. Follow @standupforscience.net for how to leave a public comment

I've seen a lot of info for specialized audiences (e.g. scientists, non-profits) on how to comment on the proposed OMB rule change for grants, but less for the general public. So I made this one-pager that can be shared more widely. docs.google.com/document/d/e...

Intellectual disability-causing mutations in KIF11 impair microtubule dynamics and dendritic arborization - Nature Communications
Here, the authors reveal that the mitotic motor KIF11 functions in postmitotic neurons as a microtubule-dynamics rheostat to regulate dendritic arborization. Additionally, they show how MCLID mutations impair KIF11 oligomerization, ATP hydrolysis, neuronal structure, and communication.

MitoTracker transfers from astrocytes to neurons independently of mitochondria
The neuroprotective transfer of mitochondria from astrocytes to neurons has been primarily investigated by labelling astrocytic mitochondria with the dye MitoTracker. Here we report that MitoTracker transfers to neurons from both astrocytes and astrocyte-conditioned media, independently of mitochondrial transfer. Our observations should prompt an essential re-evaluation of the literature concerning astrocyte-neuron mitochondrial transfer and in other systems in which contact-independent transfer has been observed using mitochondrial dyes. ### Competing Interest Statement The authors have declared no competing interest.
