Hard to believe that Byron Donalds appeals to anyone but the ride or die MAGAs in Florida. He's for data centers. He hates solar. He's cool with guns on college campuses and is against universal background checks. And he's 100% onboard with Trump's aggressive deportation efforts.

“We’ve seen these solar arrays all over the state of Florida. [...] We’ve seen how this has worked time and again. What happens very clearly is you have some power in the day, no power at night, when most people are using electricity anyway." - Byron Donalds...pretending he's the dumbest man in FL

What use was it to bring the writer and activist Chanel Miller to campus in the spring just for fraternity brothers to scroll, bored, on their phones as she movingly shared her experience as Emily Doe, the victim of Brock Turner? As I wrote at the time, I was floored and dismayed as I sat in the audience with one of my brilliant undergraduates; we heard Miller’s shattering account of being sexually assaulted by Turner behind a dumpster at Stanford University after a fraternity party. Her talk was riveting, and there was so much to learn from it. And yet many of the male students who hailed predominantly from fraternities — 15 percent of each chapter was required to be in attendance — were so tuned out that Miller commented ruefully: “You know, this has been my hardest gig, because they didn’t turn down the house lights. I’m not sure how you professors do it, because it’s so hard looking out at this sea of mildly disgruntled faces. I mean, I’m sure you’re all very moved, but …,” Miller smiled. The implication being, it didn’t seem like it, from her angle.

Enjoyed reading these two paragraphs from this morning's POLITICO Florida Playbook about Byron Donalds. Happy to see his campaign is firing on all cylinders.
Earlier Saturday, Trump lashed out at a Miami Herald story that reported how GOP gubernatorial candidate BYRON DONALDS had removed references to the president from his campaign website. Trump also incorrectly argued that he was more popular in Florida than he was after the 2024 election. He reissued his endorsement for Donalds, whom he predicted would be a "fantastic governor," and asserted that if voters believed Donalds dropped him, then “he would lose the election.”
Donalds had been asked about his website change in a sit-down interview with reporters in Miami Beach. He maintained that the alterations had been long in the works to give voters more details about his proposals to grow Florida and make it more affordable. “It’s a stupid story. Nobody cares. He doesn’t care,” Donalds said about Trump about an hour before the president posted about the website.

Interviews with more than 30 current and former employees reveal the agency is now tightly controlled by Mr. Kennedy and his associates, and its scientists are finding it increasingly difficult to do their jobs effectively.
