When it first came out, the idea of Wikipedia was ridiculed and if you cited it, you’d lose credibility for the work. Nowadays though… I’m proud to be a donor.

I was in Orvietto recently.
The duomo in Orvietto, showing the facade with gold work and the Florentine stripes of layered stone along the side. Facade of the Orvietto cathedral showing the three arched portal ways over the huge bronze doors. Religious imagery covers the facade done in gold and Egyptian blueThe altar of Orvietto duomo. Gorgeous detailed frescos cover the walls and arched ceiling. A three storey stained glass window sheds light from the September sky. A view of the interior length of Orvietto duomo. Banded columns march down each side forming twin collonades supporting the roof timbers. The whole view is reflected in the highly polished stone floor.

Ages ago, in the time of videos, I watched a dramatised film about the making of Nosferatu (it had Eddie Izzard in it) followed by the film Nosferatu. I genuinely loved the whole evening in front of thebox. I had a tape ready in the machine but didn’t record them. I regret this intensely.

Love is a Skin

love is a skin
that protects you,
a warmth that spreads
from the tips of your fingers
to your heart

sorry – not love –
