Feeling more mentally adrift than I have done in a really long time. Doesn’t feel amazing. I have a period of steady work coming up, and I hope that’ll feel… steadier… but man - the music thing requires such an obnoxious level of self-belief.

There seems to have been a boom of Proper Porn via bots on instagram. I got tagged into a porn post, reported it, and the account was removed from the platform, all in far less than five minutes. It’s *fascinating* how quick moderation is when it’s stuff they actually want to remove.

I think some people are still missing the central message of this which is that if the cops show up asking for you and you instantly know why, you have a sophisticated understanding of whatever it is you’ve done that can’t be fixed by someone informing you that doing it is bad.

This is incredibly important. I feel deeply that curbing sexual violence will come from raising social expectations of men, not from ‘educating’ them. I fear this is an unpopular view, because people are afraid to face up to the scale of the issue.

Without singling anything out, SO much stuff specifically made for the US broadcast market - there’s making TV as a coherent story, that will have a beginning, middle and end, and there’s building a dressing up box and playing with it for as long as the kids are interested. They aren’t the same.
