No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

What's a book you love with all your goddamn heart that you believe did NOT get the love and attention it's due? I'll go first, and it's abso-LUT-ely THE CITY IN GLASS by Nghi Vo. There are moments from that book that live in my blood and wake me from the dark.

One of the things I know about writing is this: spend it all, shoot it, play it, lose it, all, right away, every time. Do not hoard what seems good for a later place in the book or for another book; give it, give it all, give it now. The impulse to save something good for a better place later is the signal to spend it now. Something more will arise for later, something better. These things fill from behind, from beneath, like well water. Similarly, the impulse to keep to yourself what you have learned is not only shameful, it is destructive. Anything you do not give freely and abundantly becomes lost to you. You open your safe and find ashes.

I can’t get back the time I just wasted on a smug contrarian desperate to pretend sexism isn’t a thing. But I can focus now on this fucking awesome statement from a woman who clearly knows just how GOOD she is. Whew! What a bracing reminder.

Thirty-four days before she reported to prison, Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes gave Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim access to document her every move. That turned into a three-year project, and A24 will release the resulting documentary this October.

The math works because contrails actually net-warm the planet (trapping heat > reflecting sun). Avoiding the thin humidity layers where persistent contrails form only takes a ~1% fuel penalty on ~2% of flights, yielding a 10x–50x net climate benefit.

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)
An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

Reviews for “Garfield Sits Around the House”, the seventh book in the Garfield series first published in 1983
****•
November 17, 2015
Garfield can make me smile when I am reading about that darned, fat cat. Always hungry, and with his mischievous attitude, Garfield always finds himself getting into trouble in one way or the other.
This lasagna-eating cat loves to pick on Odie, the dog, and Jon, his human. Is Jon really Garfield's owner? Well, Jon may think so, but I'll bet Garfield has his own ideas about that one.* **

I'm coming in late with this week's #OliveArtClub. But here is a teapot. I didn't want to splatter the darker colour ink over this one because it would lose all the detail, but I still wanted to try to get some of that amazing blue on to the page somehow. This was my solution this time!
A sketchbook drawing of a teapot sitting on a wooden stump. It is detailed with stippling for the reflections and shading. Around the top of the teapot is a background of royal blue.

The fountain pen ink colour used this time was 'Arctic Blast' from Diamine.
