He’s right of course. Player pay and coaching pay ARE totally different markets. That’s why in every pro sports league on earth, the best players are paid significantly more than the best coaches. They’re way more valuable. College sports is unique in flipping that

The guy who proclaimed the Iowa Hawkeyes are the Atlanta Hawks also said a month ago that anyone who thinks Michigan fans say "beat Ohio" doesn't know ball. The absolute goat in the crowded "Republicans don't know ball" marketplace. Yes he voted for his govt to control college sports, why do you ask

Tell me you don’t know ball with saying you don’t know ball.

Interesting result tonight from the world of baseball: the New York Yankees, who are good, are beating the Boston Red Sox, who are bad

Really appreciated Brian spelling out the years of meta-referential commercial plotlines that led to this. Why are we expected to know so much lore for an insurance company’s commercials

I’m the guy at NHL HQ who’s in charge of making sure all of our major events get overshadowed by things in other sports, they gave me a huge raise for putting the season opener at 5 pm on a weekday at the same time as Game 1 of the MLB playoffs

I know it's a fabricated claim, but we all have a moral imperative to speak up on this issue: Anyone who willingly pays money to watch the Atlanta Hawks play basketball is unfit for office. Needs to be a red line issue. We cannot normalize this.

Coming to terms with something after many months I wanted my original copy of Walt Frazier’s 1974 book Rockin’ Steady: A Guide to Basketball and Cool to be a key part of my video backdrop but the cover is too glossy and most of the time it just reflects the light coming in from my window
A book with art of Clyde Frazier on the cover Me in front of the backdrop, the book is impossible to make out due to the reflection

We passed the bill to address the thing you were really mad about! No, not the tariffs. Sorry, not the Iran war either. The Trump Checks? No, why would you even ask about that. The bill ESPN was obsessed with. You know, the thing Tommy Tuberville has been talking about. No, not the furries either.

tired: throwing a deep shot because the opponent went offsides and you know you have a free play wired: targeting the QB because the offense committed holding and you know it offsets

a failed 4th down attempt at the 2-yard line is basically the equivalent of the greatest punt your punter has ever punted, but also gave your team the opportunity to try to score a touchdown

honestly the fact that nobody broke Case Keenum's career NCAA passing yardage record during the COVID + waiver eras of NCAA eligibility means it's probably going to stand forever. Dillon Gabriel had the best shot as a 5.5-ish year starter for 3 separate schools but came up 500 yards short

this weekend's heavily delayed college football roundup is about Mississippi State calling in the backup World Record Certification company to get the cowbell world record www.sports.cool/p/today-in-s...
You might be wondering: How is it possible that Mississippi State, a school famous for its passionate cowbell-ringing, didn’t already hold the Guinness World Record for cowbell-ringing? Well, turns out it did. However, that was for a 5,000-person pep rally in 2015 — and anybody who has ever watched any Mississippi State game knows there are frequently more than 5,000 clangs happening at once.

Mississippi State apparently tried to get Guinness World Records to come out to identify how many cowbells were being rung at any individual game, but Guinness wanted to put every potential clanger in one section of the stadium — and wanted to charge Mississippi State $35,000.

That’s too much. They’re gonna need that money to keep Kamario Taylor.

So Mississippi State got an off-brand Guinness competitor, Elite World Records, to simply count the number of cowbells that entered the stadium.
