Making video essays that contain very dark topics is really awkward because I usually try to get quotes read by my YouTube peers but also…sometimes they are descriptions of real horrifying traumatic shit. I’ve had people straight up turn me down before and I get why, it’s tough!

I REALLY liked Onslaught. Felt good to see another Wingard/Barrett film back in this style. I think the third act gets a bit all over the place and a few things under delivered on payoff, so it isn’t quite as stellar as The Guest…but goddamn it was so much fun.

Alright I don’t know what that weird heave at the end was, but I will say that people should not overreact to Drake Maye just because he had a few bad throws. It’s a small sample size, he’s young, facing one of the best defenses in football and he still had 72% completion pct.

I have a lot of movie blu-rays in my collection but only a couple TV shows, and I kinda wish I could expand that TV section a bit more…there just isn’t a lot of TV blu-rays out. There’s a lot of DVDs of standard def shows but not that many remastered blu-rays of old shows.

I like Adult Swim airing a bunch of classic shows for its 25th anniversary, it’s cool…but I do wish the scheduling wasn’t so syndication and R&M heavy. Like we get these classics…for a hour and a half. There’s seven hours of Fox shows, and two and a half of Rick and Morty.

I think growing up with dysphoria absolutely left permanent, horrible scarring on my psyche, perception of the self, and self-worth that I’m still healing. But I also don’t think I’d be nearly the person I am today without the perspective and empathy and curiosity it’s provided.

Unfortunately wasn’t able to afford to stay in Montreal long enough to catch Buddy at Fantasia, but seeing it now as a fan of Casper Kelly’s work…yeah that was incredibly fun and inventive, a film worthy of intelligent analysis and yet also embracing its own absurdity.
