Broadband/ISP woes update: I have now returned to Plusnet and have full fibre, with a 146Mb/s download speed. It took three attempts to create the new account, including a Kafkaesque situation where my address didn’t exist despite them having provided my internet in it for 10 years previous.

Richmond, near where I live, has been voted most peaceful place in the UK, but you wouldn’t have known it yesterday after a Land Rover driver bawled at a group of tourists to eff off for daring to step onto a pedestrian crossing without asking his permission. Such a lovely Sunday morning scene.

I had to read this Guardian piece to see if it was as stupid as it seemed.

Other factors in play: it seems ridiculous to mention, but knowing how superficial Trump is, it seems to me that Burnham's extremely impressive coiffure for a man of his age - which appears to exist without augmentation - won't have been missed by a US president who spends an awful lot of time on his hair.
