Antisappointment is a good word for it 👍 Most people I see on them don’t make much effort or have anything original to say, which is very dull. But it’s worth it for the few who are fun and have something to say.

I’ve tried several over the past 10 years or so, and some are ok, and some of the people on them are lovely. You have to try a few apps and wade through a lot of boring profiles though…

For all we know at the moment, the 5 men arrested near RAF Fairford might have been on a stag night. But the wild claims by Trump and Rubio suggest that, if they'd been apprehended in the US, they would have been denied due process. I hope our government tells them to butt out of our justice system.

Yeah, this weekend was heaving! It’s a small, old town and attracts a lot of visitors, especially these days with the Ted Lasso connection, and it can’t really cope. It is lovely though, a gift to photographers. Say hi next time you’re here! 👋🏻

It was probably the borough (there have been similar previous polls), though invariably whenever it's reported it's accompanied by photos of the actual town, the distinctive riverside etc. There are a lot of hooray Henrys around here unfortunately.

Richmond, near where I live, has been voted most peaceful place in the UK, but you wouldn’t have known it yesterday after a Land Rover driver bawled at a group of tourists to eff off for daring to step onto a pedestrian crossing without asking his permission. Such a lovely Sunday morning scene.

The thing that got me about the library is that it was just a normal one, like a public library, with functional shelving and bad lighting. Not, say, a wondrous, enormous dream library from some fantastical kids' film, despite the fact that this was, you know, a dream...

(While we're on the subject) I then had another dream I was living in a block of flats with many levels, where I climbed an ornate iron staircase to the top floor and found a library, with residents sitting around having coffee. They told me off for using the wrong ladder to join them.

Curious dream in which I was in Steely Dan's apartment, Becker and Fagen rehearsing in their sunglasses, and they had a small electric train installed, not a model train but one big enough to sit on, which went around the apartment, as a protest against "the coal president".

I’m glad someone finally did that.
