4/ Fernando Vasquez, an 18-year-old citizen, was on break from work when agents chased and handcuffed him, then put him in their truck. After realizing their mistake, the agents left the teen alone in the woods, with no way to get home. Then they threw his ID out of the truck.

But above all, it’s such a perfect distillation of who these jokers are. Facts don’t matter. Civility doesn’t matter unless it’s to their advantage. Nothing matters unless they’re allowed to keep pressing a boot on all of our faces. We’re going to keep telling the truth, and we’re going to win.

Friends. Today was a great day in terms of playing soccer, giving a kicking lesson, and doing a campaign event with Robert Garcia, but I have to tell you the cherry on top was seeing this Republican text ad whimpering about our campaign’s efforts to shine a light on my extremist opponent.
An attack ad from the Orange County Republicans against me featuring a whimpering plea to stop highlighting how my opponent has hung out with white nationalists and posted anti-Semitic content to YouTube, including a bonus AI picture of me!

And I get the same vibe from AI proponents; They simply don't understand art, and think it's beneath them. They don't understand the appeal, they come from a techbro mindset and think art is a solved equation and anything that isn't photorealistic or extremely high detail is failing at the goal.

We had amazing ideas from the NFT bros like "what if you could OWN Mario in Mario Kart?" and other dogshit brainfarts because their only priority, their only consideration with doing anything is whether or not it's a worthwhile investment. Playing a game for the enjoyment? It simply didn't occur.

The cluelessness of this reminds me a lot of the NFT grift. The thing about NFTs was that it was mainly something finance bros were into, and when they were trying to worm their way into gaming, their pitches were an abyssal trench of bad ideas because they couldn't grasp why people played games.

Why is the U.S. public so much more negative on AI than almost anyone else? Well, I think the fact that the U.S. AI industry is being lead by a bunch of very visible, crazy weirdos who talk about how AI will take everyone’s job and maybe kill us all the time is a pretty key factor.

They can do it at scale, they can build it into the system that millions of people already have installed, they have capital and connections and market position that you don't. Trying to create something new with AI is just doing unpaid market research and R&D for tech firms.

Today I saw the idea that AI will empower anybody with a good idea to become an entrepreneur and use it to build new business ideas and models and I need you to understand that if you innovate anything profitable enough to notice, OpenAI is going to integrate what you do into ChatGPT and market it.

Normally people who try to push the “Jews are inherently untrustworthy oathbreakers” stuff omit the surrounding context, but the viral tweets in question explicitly cite the Spanish Inquisition & forced conversions to Christianity made under threat of death *as evidence that Jews are untrustworthy*
Tweet: “The jewish holiday Yom Kippur starts with a troubling prayer called Kol Nidre. It's a preemptive legal declaration that automatically cancels all personal oaths, promises, and vows. In simple terms, it allows jews to treat their words like garbage and cheat their spiritual obligations for the next 12 months.

Because of this exact loophole, Western and Islamic courts for centuries viewed the Kol Nidre with immense suspicion. They argued that if a community's most sacred holiday began with a formal legal decree wiping away their oaths for the next year, then a secular court could never trust a jew's testimony under oath in a legal trial or business contract.

European states even implemented the 'jewish Oath' (More Judaico). This was a separate court ritual that forced jewish merchants and witnesses to stand in front of a court and swear terrifying curses upon themselves before their testimony was legally accepted.”Tweet: “T he Kol Nidre prayer was actively used by Marranos (crypto-jews) during the Spanish Inquisition who publicly pretended to convert to Christianity.”

Keith David has over 400 credits on IMDB and that's into "he'll be in whatever you offer him money for" territory and that means that any time you watch something that doesn't have Keith David in it it's because they didn't want to have Keith David in it and that is a mindset I just can't understand

I got my first online mob attack in '11. In '15, the CBC asked me if I could leave the country before a story broke because they feared for my safety. In '20, the police told me to leave the country for my safety. Nobody has ever been arrested, let alone charged, for the threats against me.

Normalizing threats against politicians is bad for democracy. *However* every time a story like this comes up, it seems like a good time to remind people that there are many of us who receive messages like this *by the hour* & those same police forces tell us they're powerless to do anything.

I assume anyone who points out how small the trans population is doesn’t know any trans people & I guess that’s what it takes to care? Because if you know even ONE trans person, like a person in your life, how can you think about that person and conclude it’s okay if they get thrown under the bus?

It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.
Nichole Hiltz
The Democrats defend the Kennedy Center but not trans people.
