My friend messaged me this, it’s a good reminder why it’s so important to be loud against AI ‘art’. Schools and teachers really need to understand that encouraging kids to embrace AI art does them SUCH a disservice, kids deserve to learn the joy and reward of being creative! It’s ESSENTIAL.

We just did a secondary school tour and there was a display board with around 10 after school club posters. Each one was Al slop, looked shite

Still buzzing from the Week Jr Awards, what a lovely night to spend in the company of friends and making new ones. I got to tell Andy Day from CBeebies about how the ‘what’s on your plate’ song is a firm favourite in our house. He asked how old my kids were, I said I don’t have any, why.

I was shortlisted at the Week Jr book awards in both fiction and graphic novel categories. Didn’t win (rightfully so). Then they announced the children’s choice award voted by the kids, and your boy got himself a trophy. Then he made a wobbly speech. Then he got an early train. 💖

Sometimes I remember when the barber was shaving my beard and he asked me to tilt my head this way and that and then lift my chin and for some reason my brain got confused about what he wanted me to do so I stuck my tongue out. Like, in what world does a barber need you to stick your tongue out.

It’s weird drawing cartoons for kids because you often realise your references are outdated. I keep trying to draw TVs with aerials on top. I draw a hospital bed and put a clipboard at the end of it, that can’t still be a thing can it? The Beano once asked me to take out a reference to powdered egg.

Can’t eat a sandwich until you subscribe to sandwiches. Can’t eat today’s sandwich until it has applied daily sandwich updates. Sandwich now has adverts even though you paid for ad-free sandwich. Can pay again to have less sandwich adverts. Now you can eat the sandwich, but it’s smaller.

Last few weeks I’ve kept smelling toast, randomly, at home but out and about too, and I remember the myth that this might be a sign of a stroke so I go and check and every time it turns out someone’s actually making toast.
