I was in Japan for a year as an exchange student on September 11, 2001 and didn't return until the summer of 2002. I left one country and came back to what felt like the mirror universe version. It was truly alarming how quickly many things, and people, changed for the worse.

Dolly is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years Carl Thomas Dean (1942 – 2025), her mother Avie Lee Caroline Owens (1923 – 2003), and father, Robert Lee Parton, Sr. (1921 – 2000).

A rhinestone life that shone bright enough for the world to see, Dolly will forever stand as an inspiration not only through her timeless music and prolific songwriting, but also her wit, warmth, and kindness that made us all feel like family. Dolly Parton’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and resilience. The downside of using voice-to-text to write Important Business Emails is that sometimes I have to multitask when my cat gets her claws caught on the carpet again, and I forget to turn it off.

A work email written with voice to text where I pivot from talking about event logistics to talking to my cat and it all ends up in the email
