I think a shocking number of our major societal problems would vanish overnight if you could magically pull the plug on the X platform and Meta, both of which are carefully designed to turn people into the worst version of themselves.

It's hard to see how the Green party's motion today will avoid an investigation by the EHRC, given Labour was previously found in breach.

We're minutes away from the notion of a Left Bloc in English politics completely imploding. There is no way that I, as a Labour voter, could vote for a Green Party which has almost certainly transformed itself into the largest and most extreme antisemitic force that this country has ever seen.

I know this is a common belief, but it’s not true. If people went anti-vaxx/MAHA because they were excluded from the medical establishment, we would see sky-high rates among poor people, minorities and the uninsured. We don’t.

Asked how long the UK should support Ukraine for most voters want to see the UK support Ukraine until at least the 2022 borders are restored. That number has been consistent since the war began. Only 14% want the UK to stop now.

I wouldn't call myself a cartoonist, but I had the vision and just needed it to be on paper to the best of my ability.
A hand drawn eight panel cartoon. First two panels are a colander sitting frowning on a shelf. Then the colander is frowning straining pasta, then three more panels of frowning sitting on a shelf. Then a big panel where it's projecting a bunch of crescent eclipse shapes and smiling with speech bubbles around saying "Wow! Look! Amazing! Beautiful!" And then one final panel where it's sitting on a shelf smiling.

Higher taxes that most people will pay? Or spending cuts that most people will feel? That's it. Pick one. If your answer is "government waste" or "tax the rich", then you're part of the problem. The strategy of taxing "other people" has run out of road.

The Jewish News, which I am proud to work for as Deputy Editor, has published an editorial on this week's Iftar prayers in Trafalgar Square www.jewishnews.co.uk/voice-of-the...
Excerpt from the article:

"The question here is not really one of whether such prayer is in fact an attempt to “dominate” – or the more obvious explanation, that during Ramadan one breaks ones’ fast by eating very briefly just before and then more properly after the evening Maghrib prayer (yes, like our own Maariv prayer). Rather it is about whether one has the right to publicly express their religious identity in this country. In this specific instance, an event to mark a key event in the Islamic calendar had been openly and legally booked for Trafalgar Square. Muslims present had every right to pray as a part of that."

There’s been a turn in a lot of left/liberal moral thought over the past decade away from individual culpability and toward analyses of structural forces that generate bad behavior. But I’m increasingly convinced that those structural forces can’t be confronted while individuals enjoy impunity.

Anyone who will lie unapologetically about mass violent attacks to push their own profile and political cause is beneath contempt. There’s no need to book such people, to platform them, or to listen to them. That’s not because of their politics, or their views: it’s because of their dishonesty.
