We have been working on these stories for a decade now and the Independent Commission has now ruled. Even if some technicality appears, several different bodies have now discovered rampant cheating underpinned the emergence and success of the team that redefined English football. Seismic.

People keep conflating it with strip their titles AND then award them to whoever finished second and then arguing against that instead. But there is nothing saying that you have to then reaward them afterwards. Just remove them and have no winner those seasons

The consequence of this, as the Commission found, was that the club filed misstated accounts and concealed the true state of its finances from its auditors and football regulators.
