In Alien Earth, a guy is typing "crew dead" on a computer and the words are reflected on his face, but they aren't reversed like they should be. For readabilty I guess. They should've used a palindrome instead, so we can still read it backwards. "Ya won, evil aliens. Is neil alive? no way"

I have to say that it seems like lots of AI power users are in the gamified machine zone — attracted by the constant attention of feedback loops, agnostic of what that feedback is. The casino has come for the minds of the C suite.

Harold, No
An old man sits in a corner. A voice from off screen says "Harold there's someone at the door for you."

Harold's face begins to shrink inward, the speaker continues "Harold, he says it's important. No- Harold. HAROLD!"

Harold's head now has a full cutout in it, his face beginning to recede behind a corner. "Harold, stop it."

Harold's face is now completely gone into the black inside the hole in his head. The voice says "Get out of there right now Harold."

Harold says "NO!"

Science Museum, London SW7 OLYMPUS 593B ROLLS-ROYCE/SNECMA c.1969 #reference #vehiclereference #materialreference
Four of these engines were fitted to each of the two Concorde supersonic airliner prototypes.
This engine was in the French 001 prototype for its first supersonic flight. It was later installed in the British 002 prototype for its first flight at twice the speed of sound and for other test flights.
Early versions of the Olympus were fitted to the Avro Vulcan bomber and a variant was developed for the TSR2 supersonic strike aircraft. This formed the initial basis for the Concorde power plant.
OLYMPUS 593B
ROLLS-ROYCE/SNECMA
Twin spool turbojet with re-heat; 7 stage low pressure compressor; 7 stage high pressure compressor; combustion, 8 flame tubes in casing; turbine, 2 separate stages.
Power: static thrust 31,000 lb (138 kN); with re-heat 36,280 lb (161 kN)
Weight: 3,110 kg (6,850 lb)

It’s unfortunate that some studios are mandating new hires be in-office only, because it just locks out so much talent and makes job searching that much more difficult and demoralizing.

The year is 2035. I meet President AOC in the Oval Office. "You've done well," she says. "By telling men to dress gay, you've lowered the population rate by 90%, thereby reducing carbon emissions." She slides me a manilla envelope. I can now afford a home in a walkable neighborhood
Someone on Twitter writes: "Unfortunately die work wear or whatever is a psyop to turn men into women . Cuz why the hell else would he be telling them to dress that gay"

Weathered, half demolished buildings stand on an empty street, their walls marked by peeling paint and graffiti. A path cuts through rubble and overgrown grass, leading to a small hill crowned by cypress trees and a solitary building in the distance. The sky is muted and heavy with clouds.

In winter through early spring, you can sometimes find unspoiled, still-bright groundcherries sitting in the latticed remnants of their husks, like hearts suspended in paper ribcages
A photo of groundcherries (Alkekengi) in a garden in winter. The round, orange, cherry tomato-like fruits are suspended in the center of pendulous, vaguely heart-shaped husks made of networks of dried beige veins. The husks have a delicate, skeletal, lattice-like structure, reminiscent of laser-cut papercraft.

Nobody at Turbo Button could figure out how to make an AI-generated greeting card. But we heard studios like us are expected to use AI for everything now, so we commissioned some of our favorite artists to hand draw what they think those cards might have looked like. Here's what they came up with.
A collection of five hand-drawn greeting cards, each representing an artist's interpretation of AI-generated art.
