I would, non-ironically, bring back the Monk and Drax to give myself more options for historical stories, I think the show would benefit from a couple more recurring, lower-key goofier time-travelling villains.

This is how it starts, it’s all light hearted fun but before you know it you’ve built a season finale around bringing back Drax, The Black Guardian and the sock puppets from Timelash.

Alternatively: if they say "no idea but if you really need it to I can do it in a line of dialogue" they can go on the shortlist

Places like the Basque country suggest models not too far from the Preston model can operate under the Euro.

Envisioning a whole franchise based on the original There Will Be Blood. First sequels, There Is Blood and There Was Blood; then the origin story prequel, Will There Be Blood; then a sidequel, There Will Have Been Blood.

One of the ironies is that there’s a reasonable argument (not an endorsement , just noting) that proponents of regionalism vs “that London” should embrace the Euro.

I think I'm right in saying Spooner was the first script editor Holmes pitched a Who story to.

Did they collaborate on or both contribute to other series like 'The Saint' or 'The Avengers'? They were certainly moved in very similar circles

The idea of Dennis Spooner and Robert Holmes meeting feels inherently weird to me, just because Spooner contributed to a very different era of the show. Irrational I know, especially as the gap between their contributions must only be like 3 years

I went looking through the newspaper archives, and I found this from October 1948. What even WAS Seattle 78 years ago?
Seattle Censor Bans the Murder Thriller "Rope"

SEATTLE, Oct. 19, 1948 (AP) -- Seattle's theater censor board today banned further showing of the murder thriller "Rope."

The action came as the motion picture ended a two-week run and was to be shifted to a second theater.

Chairman Bernard Reiter said the board banned the picture after receiving "a number of complaints." He said the principal objections were that it was not apparent enough the guilty are punished for their crime and it does not seem a proper picture "for children and for impressionable adults."

Alfred Hitchcock directed the Warner Brothers picture, which stars James Stewart. Movie critics here said it was the first reported censorship of the film.

An atmosphere will redden the stars. Gemini claims that because the stars are much closer together, they will typically be bright enough to see their colours plus there is a lot of dust in the galactic centre that will contribute to reddening through scattering

I was optimistically thinking that maybe, really near the center, there would be a higher density of ISM, so, just more dust in general, but also that dust would definitely not be uniformly distributed in space

Paul M. Cray @pmc.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
Would still be absolutely amazing, but would there be much variation in colour in practice? Isn't any MS star we could see with naked eye going to be, effectively, white?

I naively would have thought that the sky wouldn't look all that different, except for more stars, and maybe more obvious color variations due to dust. But the surface brightness of resolved stuff would just be the same as we see from Earth

The very best thing about preparing for the emergency landing - even more than having an exit seat - was being next to a relaxed oil rig worker, who told me, "If this thing was going to go down in flames we'd have nosedived into the Atlantic by now." I genuinely found this reassuring.
