I wish more reporting on private ADHD/autism assessment providers mentioned that many NHS pathways - as in, the default local not-Right-To-Choose ones - are outsourced to those same providers. If there are quality concerns, the Government should be investing in high-quality NHS pathways.

It’s crazy how our expectations have evaporated over the last few years. We used to see something like this as a crisis that would require international action. Create a humanitarian corridor. Negotiate a temporary ceasefire to evacuate non-combatants. All that’s over now. Cruelty reigns.

Iconic Media North East have refreshed the Morpeth Herald this week, which was still following a Johnston Press template from over a decade ago. The Northumberland Gazette must have had its design changed too. Still needs more local engagement though to support the masthead. #buyalocalnewspaper
The front page of the Morpeth Herald - 'since 1854. An edition of the Northumberland Gazette'. The main story is 'Major review of Chantry's future options' - Northumberland County Council want to make the Chantry in Morpeth financially sustainable. The main photograph shows Chris Mitchell, owner of Rutherfords, celebrating the store's 180th anniversary- they advertised in the first Herald.

From the West Lancashire Evening Gazette, 4 March 1986: a Doctor Who story writing competition judged by Dennis Spooner and Robert Holmes, which makes you wonder if the event was cursed as both of them would be dead within six months of the closing date.
Seasider's DIARY
Write a plot for the Doctor

WHO fancies their chances as a sci-fi story writer?

If you've got time on your hands you may like to enter a competition to
compose a tale featuring Dr Who and any of his old adversaries.

Set your control at 1,000 words and let your imagination turn out a galaxy-gripping storyline.

Prove yourself a master in Dalek-dialogue, Cybermen-chat or Tardis-talk and you'll be Lorded up with prizes including Dr Who videos, books and T-shirts.

Entries will be judged by Dr Who script writers Dennis Spooner and Robert Holmes.

The competition has been organised by the Blackpool Branch of the Dr Who Appreciation Society who plan to submit the top stories for inclusion in a soon-to-be-launched national society magazine.

Dr Who freaks up and down the country currently number 3.500-plus.

Time, lords and ladies, will be called on March 21, with the winners notified
by April 4. Entries to Mr Andrew Hayes, c/o 40 Dean Street, South Shore.

Meanwhile the next dose of Doctor-mania will be dished out at the next branch meeting at Blackpool Central Library on March 8.
