I think this hypothesis needs to be empirically tested. I'm happy to fund the parachute costs. If the pilot succeeds, we've proven that there's no real barrier to taxing billionaires at a rate which leaves them with $5 in hand.
Someone calling himself Nate Fisher pontificating on the internet "You air drop a billionaire into a 3rd world country with $5 in his pocket and with a few years he will be a millionaire. There are traits, skills and characteristics people have to maximise what they have. They know how to play any hand dealt"

I would just like to note that the Allies started winning WW2 when they moved from naming their tanks after racist Confederate loser traitors (Stuart, Lee) to naming them after righteous Union winners (Sherman). The British caught on to this earlier, renamed the Lee the Grant, and never looked back.

On my first big overseas client conference, I was at a dinner seated next to a drunk client who kept trying to fondle me under the table. I was young, distressed, and had no idea what to do. I moved my legs as far away from him as I could, moving into the space of the man next to me, who then started patting my legs! The Regional Manager was a French woman who caught my eye, gestured for me to go to the bathroom and when I came back had switched chairs with me. What happed next was epic. A few minutes after I sat back down, she raised her hand with his hand captured in hers and announced loudly "Does anyone know whose hand this is? I found it in my lap." There was dead silence at the table. She threw his hand back at him and said calmly "next time I pick it up with my fork." Then she started a new conversational thread and things moved on. After the meeting she found me, gave me a hug, and said seriously "Never be afraid to make some noise. It is their shame, not yours."

So there's a new Hunger Games movie coming out, and once again, it's a prequel. I'd have hoped that by now there would be more of a market for movies about what happens after you overthrow a corrupt tyrannical government that kills kids to send a message about its power.

It’s inevitable that the people my friends and I hunt for sport would disagree with us on some small issues, but never before have these relations been so strained. This is what happens when, instead of engaging in meaningful debate, the less-evolved party adopts an attitude of “c’est la guerre.”

If you're a Dem who thinks you'll gain something by going anti-trans, look at Gallup's "most important problem" and Fox News' "most important issue" polling and see where trans issues rank. Whoever told you going anti-trans is a savvy or necessary move spends too much time on X and should be fired.
Gallup polling. "LGBTQ rights" moves between 0 and 1%.Fox news polling. Wokeness/transgender issues at 0%.

If these dorks seriously believe there's a significant near-term risk of developing an AI that results in human extinction, the solution is simple and obvious: hang everyone who's trying to build AIs, for crimes against humanity and attempted genocide. The "panic" is bullshit from start to finish.

Alan Ritchson seems an okay sort of feller.
From Twitter. fattys_revenge writes "Every season of Reacher so far has been great, and I understand why they may be avoiding the earlier novels due to their slightly less standalone nature, but every year I'm sad to learn that next season won't be the book where he kills his way through a white supremacist militia camp"
Alan Ritchson replies, "My favorite book. Fun fact: I had it approved until someone got re-elected."

"Your brains stop developing at age 25" was a press misrepresentation of a study. They wanted to see if brains continued to develop after adolescence, so the study was capped at age 25. A later study with a wider subject pool showed that brains are ALWAYS developing our whole lives.

IMO, the solution should not be to browbeat people into an old standard, but rather allow people to wear whatever they want. If someone can wear ducky pajamas in public, you can wear tailoring in any cut, color, and material. As options open up, dress can then be a source of pleasure.
