My husband says even burritos are too expensive now -- I think the price at our local spot has doubled in 5 years -- and the quality has gone down, I think they are using purchased salsa now. So I guess we wont be getting takeout from there for a while!!

Another reason I immediately stand out in Mexico for my hair, besides not dyeing it, is that an ordinary middle-aged lady wavy bob is a very uncommon hairstyle here! The default for anyone in a customer-facing job is an old-school center part stewardess bun.

I cooked Korean food in Mexico!!! This is the first time I was able to get LA galbi cut for me -- hint: costilla de res, show them a photo of how you want it cut and tell them to freeze it a little bit first -- and I used the same ingredients as I use at home.

A plate of Korean food including rice, blistered gochujang green beans with ginger, stir fried mushrooms, cucumber faux kimchi, cold spinach, and galbi.
