back in the pre-marriage equality era I once heard a close friend from church earnestly say to someone “I just can’t understand why gay people want to DESTROY my marriage by redefining the meaning of it” I’ll remember the way she said the word “destroy” until the day I die, because she meant it

Astrophotographer Adam (AJ) Smadi caught this image a few hours ago from Washington state. A thin crescent Moon, sunlight illuminating the rugged lunar surface. And 2,400 times farther away—and on the other side of the Sun—mighty Jupiter, and its moons Io (left) and Ganymede (right).
A crescent Moon seen during the day, arcing from upper left to lower right of the frame. At lower centre is the full disk of Jupiter; the small dots to its upper left and lower right and Io and Ganymede, respectively.

I first wrote about dicamba back in 2017 when most of the coverage was limited to farming publications. And there's something that I think is missed in the Guardian piece that I think it's important to note about why Bayer is doing this.

My late night ponderings landed on a question for all the #science folks out there: Since Dr Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker are terrible at it, which muppet would be the best at laboratory safety? Whose guide would you read and use?

Muppet Show: Bunsen Honeydew & Beaker's Lab Mishap
Alt: Muppet Show: Bunsen Honeydew & Beaker's Lab Mishap. Beaker is alarmed and moving away from building smoke and flame as it engulfs the lab bench from right to left. He first reacts with alarm and then runs to hide behind Dr Bunsen Honeydew as everything gets engulfed in smoke. Dr Honeydew keeps jovially talking through most of the scene.

did bluesky hear about Miss Teen Indiana’s Garfield costume
A young woman in a Garfield inspired outfit with a Garfield headdressThe young woman from the first photo is holding a lasagna that says “lasagna my love language”missinteenusa Tonight, Indiana is going Garfield!
My state costume celebrates one of Indiana's most iconic creations-Garfield, created by fellow Hoosier Jim Davis.
Born in Marion and raised in Fairmount, Davis turned an orange cat with a big personality into a character recognized and loved around the world.
But this costume represents more than a famous Hoosier.
The hand-painted comic panels on my skirt share messages inspired by my initiative, Captivating Confidence:
"Our differences are what make us beautiful."
"If we don't have love, we have nothing."
"Outer beauty attracts, but inner beauty captivates."
To me, true confidence is found in embracing what makes each of us different and recognizing that our greatest beauty comes from within. I am so excited to bring a little Hoosier humor, creativity and confidence to the Miss Teen USA stage tonight!
This one-of-a-kind costume was inspired by my vision and brought to life by Indianapolis-based costume designer, Jess West. @jesswestcostumes
