There’s a weird dynamic among leftist politics where if you say crazy things like this but you don’t explicitly go full antisemite then you are actually a person worth following and listening to. It’s how Merovingians flew under the radar for so long.

“Obama was actually bad and betrayed us” Turned into “AOC is actually bad and betrayed us” Turned into “Mamdani is actually bad and betrayed us” And the only ones who don’t get this treatment are the unhinged ones who have no hope for a higher office.

I ask again, why are national Dems letting Elon "quietly" fund these races? We have two test cases. 2024 when Dems didn't make his money an issue. And 2025 Wisconsin, where they did. Guess which time they won by double digits?

Elon Musk’s America PAC Is Quietly Funding November’s Most Consequential Elections
America PAC’s approach has been unusual: for every dollar it has spent supporting GOP Senate candidates, it has spent almost three dollars attacking Democrats.

“clicking around on websites that have existed for 8 years is a natural part of the human experience“ is one of the worst arguments against using AI I have ever heard, and that’s saying something. 99+% of the humans who ever lived have never done anything like it www.hottakes.space/p/a-slow-ced...
This brings us to the latest trend we’re being pushed: to use AI agents to do simple tasks that are already convenient and frequently enjoyable like book a flight, hotel or dinner reservation, things like this. These tasks are easily accomplished on the web right now, today. They take seconds, sometimes a minute or two, and have interfaces designed for the specific task. Unless you’re under duress, or simply do not care where you sleep or how you travel, a trip for instance should take a small amount of time and consideration, that’s good. You want to look at photos, read reviews, daydream a bit …act, you know, human. A voice or chat interface is in my opinion inferior to visually seeing all options (not just options the AI decides to show) presented in one window, with another window for your own research or context. As an adult I have a workstation with two monitors, plenty of screen real estate. I do not require an infantilized view, and since I am not cognitively impaired also do not require a machine to make decisions for me.

a lot of people are replying with 'what are you going to do about it,' and while every level of government could do more, the powers the *DC City Council* has in this situation are comparatively limited. This isn't just voter intimidation, but an argument for statehood for the District of Columbia.

Blue states currently have no capacity to do anything else. The Trump onslaught came so suddenly & is such an unprecedented attack on our whole system of govt that they were caught unaware & unprepared. The question is whether they should build such capacity...because that bakes in a weakened union

Zelenskyy is right. Let's hope Ukraine has a healthy stock of drones and cruise missiles to apply its own sanctions on Russian refining and exports. One benefit of Trump ending almost all aid to UA is that he no longer has much leverage in Kyiv to persuade it not to.

Comic panel of Donald Duck and a wide-eyed young Mickey Mouse. Donald's speech bubble: "Democrats should do a huge middle class tax cut to address affordability." Mickey's speech bubble: "Fool that you are, for you treat taxation as a burden rather than the means by which our burdens are eased. Behold a civilization rich in private wealth yet starved of public provision, where every man owns what his grandfathers could not imagine and yet trembles at the thought of how he will weather an illness or loss of livelihood. Will you fight for an affirmative vision of broad contribution and universal benefit? Or will you perish like a dog?"
