Any analysis of the Iran War that doesn't start and end with the fact that an entire cottage industry of think tankers and lobbyists and their friends in Congress were frothing at the mouth for literal decades for this got exactly what they wanted and it failed immediately and totally is wrong.

Just helping with editing here. These bots aren’t sentient. They’re doing what they’re programmed to do. OpenAI, a private company supposedly bound by laws, committed federal crimes.

I don't care that a lefty is starting. That Montes isn't starting today is just proof the Mariners hate their fans. Montes and Arroyo should be starting every game the rest of the way.

Sen. Susan Collins helped steer millions in federal defense contracts to Navatek, whose CEO illegally funneled thousands of dollars to her campaign. The FBI sought to launch a probe and was eyeing Collins and other lawmakers. Then Trump gutted the unit in charge. THREAD 🧵

At the end of the day, beyond the hatefulness, he's really just a spectacularly dumb guy. Like I'm not sure he's achieved object permanence yet. He has to be reminded which hole the food goes in. His internal monologue is the sound of one hand clapping. He calls electrical sockets "finger zappers."

The whole graf is hilarious The film (that I have not seen) “falls short on every dimension”
I haven't seen the film. This means I cannot confidently assess its editing, corroboration, or the full testimony it presents. I would love to live in a world in which I could wait, watch the movie, and have a sober debate about its claims.
Unfortunately, the discourse online is not so patient. That's why it's necessary to examine the argument its makers have published, the reporting on which it builds, and the standards by which its allegations should be judged. The film falls short on every dimension.

When I read a story that uses "working class" to refer to the entire mass of U.S. adults without four-year degrees, I assume the writer is engaged in a political project, not analysis. The project is to ignore the perspectives of economically-insecure college grads. newrepublic.com/article/2155...

The Term Working Class Is Useless
Too many political analysts and pollsters are relying on education to define the working class, and it’s leading us to the wrong conclusions.

New — I wrote about this weird thing where people within the Republican party keep being exposed as Nazis and the party then tries to claim each one is an aberration. The facts, as I lay out here, indicate otherwise:

Republicans don’t have a Nazi problem—they are the Nazi problem
A spate of recent revelations have shown the ideologies and their adherents are one and the same.

Donald Trump's 1st impeachment only looking more correct in hindsight. Turns out impoundment was something that really needed to be nipped in the bud, and undermining security guarantees against Russian aggression was deleterious to global stability.

Three panel comic. Panel 1: a guy is being interviewed in an office. The interviewer, pointing to his computer display, asks, “can you explain this gap in your resume?” The interviewee replies, “uh…” Panel 2: out of thin air a portal emerges between the two men. Rocketing out of the portal is a time traveling dodo bird wearing futuristic gear. The dodo exclaims, “I’m back! I saved us from extinction!” A coffee cup is knocked over. Panel 3: at the edge of the desk, the dodo takes a knee, staring futilely out the window to a metropolitan city. It says, “No… NO!!” The two men observe, nonplussed.
