I was thinking about the frontier lab business model and how the pharma patent monopoly makes sense and the lack of it for frontier labs makes their bankruptcy pretty much inevitable if/when the money runs out. Big reason why people prefer government R&D so much.

As @gilmored85.bsky.social said the Minnesota Senate race has only had one nonpartisan poll the entire cycle with like 12% undecided (pretty useless). The rest have been R-leading pollsters finding a narrow lead for Flanagan. There's been no rush to investment in the state. It's probably nothing.

It's pretty obvious that LLMs are going to be required by nearly every big company for cybersecurity in a decade or two. This isn't going to mean that hacking is trivially easy nor that it will become more frequent, but at a certain point agent swarms will only be deterred by other agents.

Unfortunately the demographic most deluded per capita by LLMs is upper and middle management that believes the people below them are approaching some business problem wrong and the LLM basically tells them they are Warren Buffett, go full steam ahead.

The thing is if you have the time and patience to read an LLM output longer than a couple sentences you have a bigger attention span than most people. "It works with language" is a big barrier to the average media consumer. The risk of LLMs has not turned out to be "coded with false info."

Without being too revealing in college I had a roommate who decided to become an abusive alcoholic halfway through junior year and took a swing at his then girlfriend. We basically told him that we would kick him out if it ever happened again. It didn’t happen again.

I disagree with this completely.
This is a birds of a feather flock together situation. Men are not ostracized from male spaces if they respect women, they just flock together. If you find a good egg he's likely surrounded by good eggs and vice versa.

Looking back, a defining trait of the war was Yahya Sinwar's disregard for human life (including his own) and disinterest in negotiations. He knew or should have known he was a lot more likely to be killed than Netanyahu, but just didn't care.
