How I arrived on Bluesky
Left of image: A small plushy mole in an RNLI top floating on a life buoy toward a hazy coast over a blue sea. Right of image: dark clouds gather and the surface of the sea is littered with sewage and debris being pumped at an alarming rate from an industrial looking metal tower like a steelworks or oil refinery, topped with an enormous letter ‘X’. A firey plume shoots upwards from a flue on the tower, belching black smoke which merges with the dark cloud.

If there was a recognized exposure, yes, prophylactic antibiotics would work (assuming it hasn’t been made to be resistant). But an unrecognized exposure would only be noticed once a worker got sick. Always hard to know early on- especially if government is non-transparent 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Glaciers are not only retreating but collapsing, the Alps becoming an iceless rockscape.
[Glaciologist Matthias] Huss said scientists were increasingly seeing glaciers collapse from the inside – the result of internal streams beneath the ice that excavate caverns – rather than simply retreating from surface heat.
“You have huge holes like cheese in the middle of the ice that have collapsing roofs,” said Huss. “These are processes that tear the glaciers apart and make them retreat even faster.”

One thing I find endlessly funny about the rise of AI is that it has revealed that there is a large number of people who believe that the reason they wrote essays at school or university is their teachers were desperately waiting for them to provide a definite answer to “Lear: what’s up with him?”
