Marjoe Gortner died. If anyone here hasn't seen the documentary Marjoe, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Basically, Marjoe was a child preacher who ended up becoming disillusioned with the obvious grift, so he did one final tour with a documentary crew to completely expose everything.

To be fair, I think the author credits RE as kickstarting the genre after a lull between 1995ish and the first RE movie (first game was 96, and first movie was 2002), so I think while she's acknowledging the 00s Zombie Boom, i think she's crediting RE rather than, y'know 9/11 and such. Sure Jan.

When I worked in TV news, I had a producer who was *sure* that Dinosaurs could *never* have existed. Nothing that big could be alive! She'd derail entire meetings to bring up The Non-Existence of T-Rexes and shit like that. Claimed it was a hoax by scientists to do *something.*
