The One Show is always really good at their full-length obit shows. So great to have a half hour live programme in the schedule that can react to things like this properly.

To get you excited for Swap Shop's 50th anniversary tomorrow, here's an edition which ended with Noel covering the corpse of John Craven with a shroud.

This reminds me of my first job l, on a youth lifestyle website that like all of them at the time had a lifespan of a mayfly, as one of my colleagues interviewed her and she had such a strong Yorkshire accent they could barely understand her

One day I'm going to be watching a TV crime drama and a mock-up newspaper will appear with a headline that actually fits the space on the fucking page. Friends, thanks to the otherwise perfectly acceptable Moonflower Murders, today is not that day

The "pop news" on that 1980 #totp was a thriller, the story about Alan Minter's walk on music being released as a single must be the most tenuous piece of "pop news" ever reported

Been undercharged for Doctor Who Magazine at WH Smith two months running, as the barcode doesn't scan on the self service tills and on the proper tills the price doesn't match what's on the cover. Did point it out, but the guy just shrugged his shoulders and charged me what it said

Blue Peter today in 1980 is affected by scene shifter strike action, leaving TC3 without any set or furniture, which means plenty of room for humans and animals alike to move around in and show what an uncovered studio is like.

Would be fascinated to know what happened behind the scenes here, it was on the shelf for ages, shown in a slot they had never used for comedy before or since, in a weird forty minute duration and clearly very heavily edited to the extent they didn't say hello at the start or goodbye at the end
