The Canadian Lynx (Lynx canadensis) has these giant paws, essentially snow shoes that allow them to distribute their weight on delicate snow surfaces to prevent sinking in. Up to 98% of their diet is snowshoe hare, so they need to be able to maneuver across snowy surfaces at speed.

A Canadian Lynx stalks across the unbroken white surface of the snow, pausing to look at the camera. Giant floofy paws keep it on the surface of the snow, and a thick coat keeps it warm. It is grey with dark stippling pattern, with lighter grey patches under the chin and at the ankles.

It's so hot today in Texas, the buildings are melting.🫠 Actually, this is a mural on a flat, blank wall by🧑‍🎨 Cosimo Cheone Caiffa in Milano, Italy (presumably sponsored by a local ophthalmologist 😉).

A flat blank wall has been painted with windows, masonry window frames and windowsills or wrought iron balconies, but the whole effect is surreal because all the proportions are distorted and warped, as if viewed through uneven glass, or under the influence of a mind-altering substance.

One reason I think it’s important to continue to highlight the disparity on our streets is that most people just don’t see it. Despite it being obvious to some, so many people don't have clarity because we have done such an incredible job of normalizing this imbalance.
