Not to sound like my dad insisting on it being pronounced "Nessles", but when did we start calling it Cadbury Dairy Milk and not Cadbury's?

Animated Howard Halifax 2002-2006 To keep fans of HBOS staffer Howard Brown occupied when he wasn't available to sing and dance, a cartoon counterpart was designed for him by Paris-based Numéro 6 - recognised back then for their grotesque CG animation style - and voiced by white actor Paul Shearer.
A short, grotesque, bug-eyed CG cartoon caricature of Howard Brown - a bald Black man wearing round glasses and a dark blue business suit - grinning as he drives a square orange carAnimated Howard sitting in the middle of a road while employees in a Halifax office lean out of every window and singHoward presenting a Bank of Scotland credit card in a spaceshipA money box designed after Howard - resembling both his real and animated counterparts - that like the first picture portrays him driving a blue square car

the story about the ULEZ bomber, a white bloke in his 60s, still isn’t on the front page of the BBC News when it feels like quite a big story about online radicalisation & violence

I skipped high school to buy tickets for The Phantom Menace. The following day my Dad asked ," how was school?" I replied, " It was fine " He then threw this newspaper at me and asked , " how the fuck would you know?" He was so pleased with himself that I didn't actually get in trouble.

There are NOT machine-made clothes. If there were, your clothes would be made in the country you live in (where the customers are), or in China (where machines are cheap). They’re made in Bangladesh or India or Indonesia because that’s where the LABOUR is cheap. Your clothes are made by people.
Joyce Carol Oates says: “This is why Al-generated romance novels make perfect sense. Formulaic fiction doesn't need to be written by hand, so to speak; what difference does it make if a machine "writes" it? There are machine-made clothes & there are custom-made clothes. They appeal to
different consumers.“

Japan still use hanging but to avoid personal culpability, the trapdoor gets released when three people press a button in a room next door, only one of which works. Like when firing squads have one gun that’s loaded with blanks. The Wiki image is darkly funny. It’s like something from Zero Escape.

Very big "My dad actually works at Nintendo and we have all these games that haven't been officially released" energy in this Dezső Kosztolányi story ('The Liars') from pre-WW2 Hungary
One morning, as I was walking to school with the youngest boy, he said:
"Hey," and here he stopped and stared straight into my eyes, "last night I was up on the moon with my father."
Surprise and jealousy struck me dumb.
"My father has a little electric machine," he continued.
"No bigger than a match-holder. It takes you there in two and a half minutes.""And do you sleep there as well?"
"Of course, we have two beds on the moon."
"That's impossible," I said, and continued to question him on the means of travelling to the moon, which my friend divulged to me in detail. The words flowed from his mouth in a continuous stream, and not once did he flicker so much as an eyelid to give the game away. I started pleading with him, begging him to admit he was only having me on. But this he refused to do.
Later he informed me that Jókai's novels were in fact written by his uncle Géza.
At that time I already knew who Jókai was. My mother had seen him at the millennium ceremonies, and had often described to me his tall frame, his blue eyes, his grey wig. And then I knew Uncle Géza too. In the autumn he rattles through the city in a farm wagon, wearing a green Tyrolese hat decorated with a tuft of bristles. He hunts rabbits, and sometimes sends us one as well. I did not consider him to be as clever as Jókai, and the whole thing generally seemed quite incredible. But Károly explained that Uncle Géza writes his novels at home, sends them by post to Budapest, and has them published under Jókai's name out of modesty, Jókai being a good friend of the family; he often comes to visit them. At night, when there's no one to see.
He greeted me with news of this kind every day. One time he boasted that he had a real crocodile in the bathtub, another time that he gets a thousand koronas a week pocket-money from his mother, which he spends on keeping horses outside the city. These fibs vexed me. I resolved to tell him straight out that I knew he was lying, but when he began to speak my courage failed me and I continued to listen to him, because I was truly interested.
"What do you usually have for breakfast?" he asked me.
"Coffee."
"We, if you please, have chocolate and raisins."
"How many rooms do you have?"
"Three."
"We have fifteen. Four rooms above, and eleven underground, so people won't see."

The sudden desire was due to the enormous amounts suddenly being pumped in, with a backdrop that the collapse of ITV Digital sent a lot of clubs into insolvency in the early 00s. Add Leeds and Pompey into that and the rationale is pretty obvious
