Found a joke just for me: in the episode of Futurama where they go to a realm of pure numbers, Dr. Farnsworth calls it a "realm of beauty bare," a hilarious reference to the Edna St. Vincent Millay line "Euclid alone has looked on beauty bare." The fewer people get a joke, the funnier it is

Train passes through Purley a vale-bound ghost of old suburbia now benighted and entropic. Deeply eerie and fascinating. It has the feel of some once grand Amazonian city subsumed by dank nature, an exhausted 20th Century hub dragged into desuetude by the thalloid might of the lower plants.

Morning. Last week I found out for the first time that Champion The Wonder Horse (stalwart black and white 50s schedule filler up to 1993) was a spin-off. Champion was Gene Autry’s horse, and it was a 1955 cash in on the success of the Gene Autry Show. He’s like horse Frasier.
