Happy #FluorescenceFriday. Single immune cell migration is fascinating. But these cells can also behave like a coordinated collective, like 🐝 from a hive. I captured some embryonic myeloid cells (🔴) displaying swarming behaviour in a migrating ectoderm cell sheet (🔵), like neutrophils in our body!

Happy #FluorescenceFriday. The first time I imaged a 🐸 embryo, I didn't realise they had these ciliated cells on the outer surface. So you can imagine how surprised and curious I was! These cilia are similar to those found in the human airway. And yes, this is just a good old confocal + 🔥LUT!

I’ve often said (partly tongue in cheek) that spite can be a great motivator. But mudita (freudenfeude), the ability to be truly happy for others’ success, can be a much more reliable way to have a fulfilling career. Even if it can seem that way, science is not a zero sum game. Play the long game.

#BlueSci question. Any recommendations for an (anti-rat) NIR 2y Ab to be used with a 730 nm laser line? The 2 obvious choices are AF750 or DyeLight755, with (on paper) AF750 brighter? Not sure about comparative photostability? No appropriate JaneliaFluors? @christlet.bsky.social any thoughts?
