It's obviously infuriating when this happens but I take a little issue with the "literacy crisis" framing of this topic because I kind of believe at most points in history, people were a bunch of dipshits who wouldn't change their mind. We're just exposed to more of them now.

Im annoyed with the literacy crisis because im finding that sometimes you can explain something to someone in heavy detail and provide them with reference material and all that will do is make them angrier because they cant comprehend what they were told or read what they were provided.
