Do the men in the group chat like each other, I wonder-these men expressing such unmistakable, unrestrained glee as they stain their souls forever and ruin their classmate's life. I can't decide whether they're more odious if the answer is yes or if it's no, but I can't dismiss the question as unimportant, either. These fraternities that the public rarely hears about, except when their members kill or rape: do they foster the bonds of friendship or just cheaply mimic them? When some ex-frat boy needs a lawyer or an introduction to a senator later in his life, when that boy digs through the network of other boys for a hookup, what is the nature of the bond he's leaning on? I want to diagnose it. I'm the naive fool who believes that in diagnosing it, I can cure us all of it.

I did not know that many suffrage groups ran lunch rooms, often in their headquarters, to raise funds for the cause. The sunflower was a national symbol of the movement. I’ll have the corn fritters, cantaloupe and tea please 🍽️ Sunflower Lunch Room Boston 1916 #VintageMenus

Qingshan Lake Water Forest in Lin'an District, Hangzhou is a viral attraction sometimes called "Matcha Lake" for the emerald green duckweed (subfamily Lemnoideae). These black swans (Cygnus atratus) & their cygnets are enjoying a nutritious buffet of aquatic plants. Let's learn about duckweed.

people like my parents or people back home often ask me if the reason why the industry is being killed in slow motion is due to AI, and it's a 15 minute long conversation to understand the real reasons why, at the heart of which are: people who own TV don't make TV and don't want to make TV

I do think they probably ran his texts through an LLM and it hallucinated crimes. That’s scary and bad and it’s funny they got caught, but imagine how many other times this happens on a day to day basis against people with no rights, let alone the ability to publicly humiliate the AI prosecutor.

When they get back in power, Democrats need to go all-in on higher education. We need a campaign of reinvestment in public universities across the country that makes the Morrill Land-Grant Act look like nothing by comparison *and* a GI Bill of Rights-style program of tuition grants.

Loved seeing this c.1654 painting by Jacobus Vrel known as “The Little Nurse”; Vrel has often been confused with Vermeer, and I thought of John Berger’s words when I saw this very human scene: “What was it that he wanted to say in the stillness of his rooms which the light fills like water a tank?”
A painting of a woman sitting in a wooden chair near a fireplace in a sunlit, sparsely furnished room with plates displayed on a high shelf.

WaPo Bluesky post promoting an article:

Inspired by female conservative influencers, Amy Dangerfield worked to become one of Nick Fuentes's model "groypettes." A vicious fight left her grappling with the dark side of far-right fame.NYT headline and subhed:

Her Brand Was Tradwife.
Now She's Divorced.
What happens when a trad influencer leaves her husband, questions her beliefs, stops selling anti-feminism T-shirts - and still needs to make a living online?

I'd also add that these forums don't even exist internally at many universities. At mine, they began censoring the faculty list serve when people began talking about Palestine on there. Since then, what was once a place of vociferous debate and discussion now just broadcasts the decisions of deans.

No whitespace
