people like my parents or people back home often ask me if the reason why the industry is being killed in slow motion is due to AI, and it's a 15 minute long conversation to understand the real reasons why, at the heart of which are: people who own TV don't make TV and don't want to make TV

Hearing some pretty bad news about what's going down at the Tom of Finland house here in LA, and frankly it's pretty devastating. I had lovely visits every time I went, and figure drawing there with other gay and queer people was a lot of fun.

i play fire emblem like i play animal crossing: curating my posse of the hottest guys and the coolest/funniest girls i can surround my little OC with while having no regard for stats, synergies or anything else

got Fire Emblem so if any hot swordsmen who’ve sworn to die by the blade until they met me and suddenly remember their zeal for life wanna confess to me, now’s the time

at the risk of sharing opinions online, i'm glad Station Eleven made the cut as a disarming and staggering bit of television but True Detective and Twin Peaks: The Return in the 30s and 40s is brutal. people say the Office is the millennial comedy but i think Sunny is the other side of that coin

for accountability's sake, i really want to revisit some old OCs I haven't drawn in ages for a Halloween illustration this year. I haven't done anything fully rendered in a long time due to life being hectic but i want to draw Mick shirtless and dressed as a werewolf. please heckle me about this

so i’ve posted CLUTCH stuff piecemeal over the last year, but here’s the sum total of the example pages for the pitch. for comprehension’s sake: pgs 1 and 2 are sequential, 3-8 are sequential, and 9-10 are sequential, done this way so as to give an overview of various vibes in the book.

i've played Resident Evil 4: Remake so many times that it's become a problem in my relationship. my boyfriend will see me playing it in the living room, shake his head and say, "again?" and go do something else and i won't hear from him for hours but also, what if i played RE4R again

some thumbnail process. I like to thumb comics in storyboard pro, a workflow i dont recommend for anybody who doesnt already spend all their life in that program. i do it because the infinite canvas makes VP finding a breeze but honestly i do it because i feel comfortable to explore there

- film Batou is distant. his torment muted but potent. his angles, sharpest there is - SAC Batou is balanced; a man who understands he is owned by the government but still yells at tachikoma. the ponytail is challenging - new Batou possesses the most whimsy but he's also the most like a creature

for completion’s sake, here’s the key illos in the pitch too which you’ve seen already, but now they can be all together. There’s also design materials which aren’t quite as eye-catching do we use hashtags on here? #comics

thanks for asking! no, i've made a very silly pipeline for myself: i do the inks and balloons in Procreate and then once I've dotted those Ts and crossed those Is best I can, I export them to CSP for typesetting and tones. i like drawing in Procreate best, but CSP is unbeatable for tones imho

I got to get my grubby claws on every episode of Dang! while doing revisions, but perhaps my crowning moment was adding this insert shot of Eddie Being Hot. it was such an up-my-alley assignment that it was like they were making fun of me. boards by Michelle Hao, whose work was a dream to revise

underrated part of El-Sayed’s messaging strategy seems to be shaming journalists who ask dumb questions that play into right-wing frames. you can’t answer these in a way that satisfies them, but you can make it embarrassing enough that you impose a toll on asking.

Abdul El-Sayed: "Weijia, with all due respect, this is the third time you've asked about a Twitch streamer ... their whole game is to make us fight culture wars so that we don't pay attention to the fact the president has made $2.2 billion ... "
