Noooooo, you don't understand, the purpose of a political party is to patiently fence-sit their way into power, and then sell out what little principles they have left to become the junior party in (and absorb all the toxicity of) a right-wing coalition for a 5p carrier bag charge.

People are genuinely more irate about the "ethnic cleansing" they've entirely made up in their head than the *actual ethnic cleansing* that has been taking place for many decades.

I've known this dude for 20 years. One of the first friends I made in Bristol, he taught me what it means to be an antifascist. If there's dinner, he's cooking, if there's a benefit gig, he's flyposting, and if there's fash, he's first in, last out. I have literally bled alongside this man.

What if you campaigned for benefits of working age people to rise like the state pension instead of pushing for poor pensioners to be more impoverished? Also it is fiscally sustainable if they taxed WEALTH, which means clawing back from wealthy pensioners. Just a thought!

my favourite johnny cash fact is that hallucinating an aggressive spider in a nottingham hotel room whilst on amphetamines and valium convinced him to give up drugs.
The reintroduction of Valium to his system provided Cash with a string of unwelcome side-effects, not least of all the potent hallucinations he began to suffer. The worst of these, in which Cash thought he was being attacked by a spider, began in the confines of that hotel room. "I met my spider in England. Nottingham to be precise, in the Midlands, a region hitherto unrecognised as a habitat of aggressive arachnids," Cash recalled in his 1997 autobiography, "I saw it in the middle of the night, biting my hand, causing me intense pain." That pain was actually the result of an incident earlier in the day, during which he smashed the Nottingham hotel room apart while trying to prove the existence of a hidden bed to June, who, quite rightly, told him that it too was a

hallucination

(removing the name of the poster): ad blockers exist *specifically* because ad networks have been one of the biggest vectors for malware, adware, hijacks, and illegal images dressed up as "legit business" that i can think of for 20 or so years. we're reaping a near total failure to police any of it
"everyone — consumers, publishers, writers — would wind up better off if web browser ad-blockers didn't exist and the rationalizations for using one are mostly clever justifications for what's just selfish behavior with obvious negative social consequences."

The dialectical materialist position on disposable barbecues is that banning them is good, but *only* banning them and not investing in parks infrastructure to provide appropriate areas including free-to-use barbecue pits, picnic benches and accessible public toilets is bad.

It really is something watching the heralds of Very Real Concerns realise they've fucked it and muster up some limp counter-attack whilst accusing others of being the ones in the hot dog outfits
Sam Freedman saying in response to a Sunder Katwala post highlighting an article by Allister Heath in the Telegraph criticising Restore's white nationalism: "I'm glad Heath is doing this (and persisting in doing so). But as with Fraser Nelson I wish he'd take some responsibility for creating a world in which most of his readers in the comments are backing Lowe."PolProf Rob Ford commenting on the same Sunder Katwala post, saying: "This is good to see as the Telegraph is the kind of institution well placed to set out and reinforce antiracism norms along people who might otherwise drift towards Lowe's toxic worldview"
