I firmly believe that we (queer ppl and especially trans ppl) should never talk to the press about intra-community conflicts. I can’t see any way that it can benefit us, and it’s obvious how it can hurt us.

There are about 60 lesbian bars left in America and rather than a piece about why that is , we have lol cow bullshit I need people to start understanding that especially as marginalized groups when someone is jazzing up the dram it’s not “tea” it’s a mechanism of exposing your community to abuse

They're also almost always about women and queer people in left-leaning spaces, which says whom we reflexively think of as toxic or annoying. I guarantee some fantasy football league is falling apart over some petty asshole, but he doesn't become a symbol for the annoying left. He can just be Jeff.

With conservative American leaders it's always nuance nuance nuance. It's complicated. They had their pros and cons. They had some moral failings. With a foreign communist it's "bad" end of story. Why are you trying to muddy the waters with unnecessary nuance

A donkey, who in US symbolism typically represents a democrat or the democratic party, is standing in a doorway shaking a first at a woman wearing the colors of the trans pride flag and a black eye. She is slightly hunched and caring a bag. The donkey is shouting, in comic sans "Bitch you better not leave! What are you going to live in the streets and vote for nobody? You'll regret this! I'LL SEE YOU IN THE CAMPS BITCH!"

There's a hand written caption along the bottom reading "Vote Blue No Matter How Many Times He Hits You"

Alt text is making me crazy today, why can't we just attach it to a file? I'm spend more time describing this one frame over and over than I spent drawing it. Also the entry field keeps slipping behind my screen keyboard.

Anyway the art is sloppy and rushed and I wished I'd included the phrase "I'm the best you'll ever have" into the donkey's rant.

"but talarico's voting record was good..." liberals should read what he actually said. he said that his votes were based on republican overreach in those bills but that he wants to write better ones. he literally is saying that in a democratic majority he will help write new anti-trans bills.

See more Dems need to learn to do this, which I’ll call the “politically correct” answer. It’s not supportive of trans people, but it’s also not feeding into rightwing narratives about trans rights and trans people merely existing. It’s politically correct specifically because it’s neutral

country. Bernays used United Fruit money to send journalists from the Chicago Tribune, Newsweek, New York Times, and Time to report on Communists in Guatemala. The journalists complied. In an unsigned report in the New York Times on 14 July 1951, the journalist wrote, 'We cannot expect a Maya, living in an ancestral village high in the hills, unable to read, cut off from the main world currents, to recognize communism by instinct as just another system of slavery! The journalist had talked to no one in the highlands, quoted no one - this was a press release from United Fruit.

The thing being elided with this framing is that the “problem” in question is transmisogyny, which non-transfem queers have a big tendency to excuse. Like RHPS if you wish (I do), but don’t make out trans women who criticize it to simply be ignorant children who “don’t get it.”
