No, please share this far and wide: the test that Anthropic is crowing about was done with a bunch of Android devices that were given a giant security flaw by turning on a setting that no regular user would even think to access, the the thing that did the "replication" was actually a huge LLM.

Liberalism pointedly failed to defend itself from the right for *decades*, preferring to ally with the far right to secure the neoliberal consensus against threats from the left. Now that consensus is collapsing from its own contradictions, they are in a bind of their own making.

sorry, what?
Blue Origin might not have had a supply chain, but it did have a cosmology. Bezos “is God at Blue Origin,” Alexandra Abrams said. “Jeff’s big message was that it’s too late for climate-change efforts on Earth, and we need to be able to leave. We need to sustainably go into space and build resources, have a base on the moon, which would act as a gas station to the rest of the solar system. At the company, everyone felt like we were saving humanity.”

“Everything is 40% more expensive because of AI” is a great line for an opposition party trying to unseat the AI-supported incumbents, if any Democratic consultants wanted to take a short break from dehumanizing trans kids to actually try winning a contested election.

Character.AI had a valuation of $2.5 billion in 2024. Bankruptcy two years later and an asset dump to Disney for only $20 million. The main catalyst of its destruction was the lawsuits stemming from their chatbots inappropriately interacting with minors, including a 14-year-old who died of suicide.

Bluesky's Head of Trust and Safety handed his block list to a bot. 1,271 people blocked in eleven days. He says it never looks at who you are. Blocks are public, so I checked. Trans people were blocked at 2.5× the odds of everyone else, for posts of the same harshness. 🧵
Title card reading "Who the autoblocker blocked". Three figures: 1,271 accounts blocked in eleven days, against twelve in the two years before. 46% of the readable bulk-loaded accounts had never replied to, quoted or mentioned him this year. 2.5× the odds of being blocked for a trans-identified account, against others who wrote equally harsh posts. Below, a quote from Aaron Rodericks, 1 Oct 2026: "These do not factor in your bio or your identity. I have zero clue who you are."

"Entirely opt-in", he says. You get blocked for how you talk to him. 46% of the people on that list had never replied to him, quoted him or mentioned him this year. They didn't opt into anything. They were found.
Four stacked bars showing what each blocked account had done before the block. First load, 342 accounts: 283 had replied to, quoted or mentioned him. Second load, 319: 182 had, 60 only used his name, 72 had no contact. Third load, 426: only 71 had, 210 only used his name, 91 had no contact, 54 unreadable. Blocked one at a time, 184: 147 had.

The best argument for leaving Twitter has less to do with giving oxygen to a Nazi platform than what spending a lot of time on such a platform does to our brains. It’s easy to see how many once normal people on there, right or left, have truly lost themselves in conspiracy theories and false facts.

Your quote is logically correct, but frames 'AI isn't conscious' as the thing that needs proving. The extraordinary claim is that there's software that thinks, and it's up to the people making that claim to define what they mean and explain the mechanism. Hope that clears up your confusion.
