My photo shows a silver shell-shaped container with an eight-armed octopus in relief at the centre of the lid. The arms of the octopus curl outwards across the ridges of the shell’s surface. This ornate shell container has a hinged lid and may once have been a cosmetic container . It is displayed on a clear stand in a museum case. Dimensions: 13.3 × 13.2 × 3 cm. It is part of the Silver Treasure from Paternò, Sicily, a hoard discovered in 1909, consisting of tableware and toiletries. Dated 4th-3rd century BC.

Update on the current standoff at Drumcree. The delay in moving this to the next stage lies with the PSNI currently. Once they say they can no longer police this, it moves to the Secretary of State to overturn the successful appeal and restart the process again. PSNI hold the power currently.

My son's girlfriend lives in the heart of the Glenanne murder triangle. Tonight I had to have a conversation with him about being careful on that road if things kick off. I am so so fucking angry that I had to do that. How dare these people unleash more trauma and fear on us.

I hate this. This young fella competed in the longest race of his life at the same level as top riders doing this for years. His team made a great effort, yes but so did many others without nearly the same impact. Someone needs to keep an eye on Seixas and make sure he knows his own value.

Political Unionism rarely thinks long-term. It thinks it's won a victory with the court decision on the Drumcree parade but it's actually shot itself in the foot. Its leaders are entirely to blame for allowing themselves to be brought back into a settled dispute.
