I think I was about 6, but I have to add that our memories on this are often unreliable. I've witnessed and intervened when this happened to my then 5 year old in a playground. She doesn't remember that but I do. So really, we could have been younger than we think.

Another appeal, which he's v unlikely to win, but the whole point is the generation of these headlines and the normalisation of the claim that homophobia is protected under the Equality Act. It is not, but these people have endless cash to spend to try to find a court that will set such a precedent.

I was nowhere near the Garvaghy Road in the 90s and am nowhere near it now. But talking about it earlier made me suddenly feel like I was about to cry. If that's how this makes me feel I can only imagine the feelings of the people who lost loved ones or experienced direct trauma.

One of the cool things about having one kid in primary school and the other in secondary school is that they get to catch and bring home different illnesses, so as soon as you've over the stomach bug the younger one gave you, you can fully enjoy the cold the teenager shared with you. Fun!

Listen, I dropped the PhD I started and so I've never worked in academia, but I'm pretty sure you either are or are not a pariah, it doesn't make sense to "label" someone as such. Kinda implies that they're not a pariah at all. But maybe academics know better.
