This is obviously aimed at Americans but it remains true everywhere else - because the X algorithm suppresses non-right wing messages it's a poor channel for most organisations, and all these are doing by being on there is driving traffic to X. Use other channels first #XOff

While people are talking X, let me talk about X OFF. Two big ideas: 1. Get everyone possible off of X, especially for the news (at least) until every vote is counted 2. Tell your elected reps and candidates to stop sending people there and go X last (at least)

The livable streets community needs to get off of X. You aren't reaching people you think you need to reach and you're supporting an owner who is a Nazi. This is a moment for solidarity. If you're still on there, leave.

There also remains the issue that NHS trusts have CO2 reduction targets that can’t be met without a reduction in staff commuting in single occupant private cars.

I talk a lot about major transport investment, but one of the biggest bangs for the buck policy-wise would be a full pavement parking ban and more rigid enforcement of traffic rules. Enforcement is so lax that this stuff is just completely normalised now, and it's unacceptable.

📢Today Google has added motor fuel prices to the maps app so you can see how expensive driving is. 🚲Not wanting to be left out we have been around the city to check on the cost of fuelling a cycle and produced our own map. 🎉It's good news - fuelling a cycle is still free everywhere.

I don't like to be snotty. But Facebook has just offered me a charity "challenge" to cycle 124 miles. I looked at it, thinking, "Well, I've never ridden as much as 124 miles in a day." Turns out it's 124 miles in a month. I rode 699 miles in September just with commuting and a few leisure rides.

Good response from @hinabokharild.bsky.social here - no-one is saying a #CargoBike can do every job a van can do, but they can do a lot, and with diesel over £2/litre they can do it a lot more cheaply as well as being cleaner

As on this side of the Irish Sea, cutting the #ActiveTravel budget is bad economics given it’s massive returns in health, cost of living and the environment - it’s estimated the BCR is somewhere around 8:1 unlike roads spending which struggles to break even.
