China is moving to protect itself from oil disruptions as the risk of a wider US-Israeli Iran war grows. Chinese buyers have purchased all Russian ESPO crude scheduled for August, September shipments rushed, suggesting Chinese intelligence expects significant disruption to M.E. oil flows.

Grogu’s family has announced he has passed away. “He was probably like 56 years old, which is like a baby age for little freaks like him,” his mother told the Times. He will be flushed down a special toilet with an extra wide pipe designed for Yoda disposal. “Like a big green turd,” she added

the problem isnt AI so much as it is how AI intersects with everything else at the moment (across the spectrum! ecologically etc). its actually pretty good at doing a lot of braindead bullshit email jobs. the problem is you are injecting that into a broken society with mostly braindead bullshit jobs

Reported manifesto of San Diego mass shooters is standard neo-Nazi accelerationist fare that pushes "Great Replacement" conspiracy theories and rails against immigrants, Muslims, women, Jews, LGBTQ+, and Black people. "Hail the Saints and hail our glorious and bloody legacy of White Terror."

After jury decides Elon waited too long to sue Sam Altman, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers says she was ready to dismiss on the spot. Which, by not doing, resulted in a whole lot of damning information getting into the public record. www.reuters.com/legal/govern...
OAKLAND, California, May 18 (Reuters) - A U.S. jury on Monday ruled against Elon Musk in his lawsuit against OpenAI, finding the artificial intelligence company not liable to the world's richest person for ‌having allegedly strayed from its original mission to benefit humanity.
In a unanimous verdict, the jury in Oakland, California, federal court said Musk had brought his case too late. The jury deliberated less than two hours.

The trial had widely been seen as a critical moment for the future of OpenAI and artificial intelligence generally, both in how it should be used and who should benefit from it.
Following the verdict, Musk's lawyer said he reserved the right to appeal, but the judge suggested he may have an uphill battle because whether the statute of limitations ran out before Musk sued was a factual issue.
"There's a substantial amount of evidence to support the jury's finding, which is why I was prepared to dismiss on the spot," U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers said.

What made John Brown a great man was not actually that he was a "great" man. It was that he recognized himself as a regular man that rejected white supremacy. And was willing to die for that. That when he saw another Black face, he saw a human like himself. May 9, 1800 he was born

One of the most amusingly petty things Justice Alito does is to put deadlines on administrative stays *only* when he is deeply *unsympathetic* to the applicants. He did it in the 2023 mife case and the 2024 SB4 immigration case; and he did it today. In all other cases, his stays are indefinite:
