It’s almost as if anyone with enough clinical competence to perform a lethal injection won’t participate in a lethal injection. Weird.

When my grandmother’s dementia progressed she was often in a constant state of panic, feeling she was in a wrong & dangerous place. She was in a nice nursing home with adequate staffing. Lots of redirection & behavioral interventions like dolls & towels to fold. Still needed meds, SSRI and prn benzo

Agreed—my dad has dementia and we went through a period last year where he was attacking caregivers, hyperventilating, and incredibly anxious all the time. It was horrible for him. Getting him on antipsychotics was a difficult choice, but it’s been one of the best descisions we’ve made.

Articles like this often feel really out of touch. Of course behavioral interventions should be tried first, and this is often limited by staffing. But if you elect not to treat agitation with meds and this leads to violence or restraints, that is also a treatment failure www.npr.org/2026/09/30/n...

This is just what happens when you play the billing and coding game with the same tools the insurers are using. If every mild AKI and stage 2 CKD is appropriately documented and contributes to encounter complexity then insurers have to pay out more, simple as. www.yahoo.com/news/us/arti...

Hospital AI billing tools added $942 million in BCBS costs
A BCBSA study found coding for more complex patient conditions rose sharply, but treatment rates did not change to match

I think it says everything that the prosecution in Lindsay Clancy’s case wants you to believe a woman who hit the door with a temp of 82.1 from cold exposure and blood loss, in spinal shock with a complete thoracic injury, requiring transfusion and CPR, was not actually trying to kill herself

The job market for neurocrit is bad right now. But the way medicine jobs often work is if you train for the jobs that are in short supply now by the time you get out of training there will be more jobs because everyone got spooked and stayed away.
