I’ve thought about this a lot and the Segway, a rechargeable, electric device that was hyped to change the way that humans live it cities, did actually largely do that, just not in the form factor they had designed. They should have just made it look like a bike or a scooter.

Today a preeminent climate scientist said that building a bike lane in Berkeley California is bad because not everyone can bike to get groceries. The US climate movement has a cars blindspot, and it's why we aren't making progress the way other countries are.

I've been thinking about how the Trump administration is engaged in an endless war that is driving up gas prices, promoting non-EVs that are larger and less fuel efficient, and also fighting active transport and public transit. They are entrenching car dependency while making it even more expensive.

I hope a big part of this story is how Trans rights won. Markey wrote the transgender bill of rights. Unabashedly campaigned on that (among other things). Moulton questioned whether trans kids should play sports. Then doubled down. Dems should take big note here.
