The Shoreline City Council is getting a report right now that showed that 27% of city residents have used bike or scooter share in the city and that 53% have a negative view of the program. Non-users "top concern" was safety, yet the city has reported no crashes during Lime's pilot period.

The Mukilteo Council just voted to rezone Lot 5 on its waterfront to allow mixed-use development, a first step toward a potential waterfront-wide redevelopment plan with the Port of Everett. The vote was 6-1.

Tuned into the Mukilteo Council for a zoning discussion, ended up with a comment period dominated by people complaining about the existence of the meeting's land acknowledgement. One woman was incensed that it "stereotypes the two cultures that came together to make this area what we enjoy today."

Bob Ferguson to state ferry workers: "My expectation is that every vessel on every route is fully operational no later than the first vessel sailing tomorrow morning.”
“As a regular rider on our state ferries, I know how important our ferry service is to Washingtonians. Restoring our ferry service has been one of my top priorities since taking office, and we’ve made significant progress on that front, due in large part to the efforts of our workers.

“I met this morning with local and national MEBA union leadership. They shared their perspective on challenges facing their membership. As always, my door remains open to discussing those issues, and I remain committed to improving staffing levels.

“That said, causing significant harm and inconvenience to the people of Washington state is not the way to address those issues. I was very direct in our meeting: My expectation is that every vessel on every route is fully operational no later than the first vessel sailing tomorrow morning.”

No, Sound Transit is not still facing a $35 billion budget shortfall, Seattle Times Editorial Board. We had a whole contentious process to tackle that earlier this year, maybe you weren't paying attention?
Yet, Sound Transit still has some financial obstacles in its future that will require serious attention. It plans to build forced-fare enforcement entrances at some of its train stations that will cost millions of dollars but will begin to rehabilitate its tolerance of fare-skippers. And the agency is still staring at a $35 billion long-term shortfall that has already resulted in delays in promised rail services to areas such as Ballard and Tacoma. Many taxpayers who live or work in those communities were offended by the delays announced earlier this year.

Due to crew shortages, which have been credited to an apparent engineer sick-out, multiple Washington State Ferries routes are not operating this morning including Seattle-Bainbridge and Seattle-Vashon Island. Others are on severely reduced schedules. Check for updates: wsdot.com/ferries/sche...

● Noun and verb.

● Scales well: Rise Building, Rise Station, Rise Park.
● Plain enough that a bakery, gym, coffee shop can all carry it
