Ordinarily, the play here would be to disown this and other concrete statements of his about Al doom as irrelevant. Of course we aren't just repeating Yudkowsky! We are smart, normal people who believe normal things for normal reasons.

In 2004 I saw Yudkowsky give a talk in which he said that when we upload our brains into the cloud and enter machine heaven, we will be able to taste the tastiest possible potato chip. That was his positive vision of the Singularity. I know it sounds made up, but he did say it.
