I like John Harris, he seems like a good, well-meaning guy. But his desire for a better radical politics is totally fraudulent, even if he doesn’t understand that it is. There is no form of meaningfully left wing politics that John cannot be effortlessly bullied into denouncing by his colleagues.

Also, because of the hypocratic oath they can't find good medical professionals to administer it you end up with less skilled people doing it so they miss the vein making it extremely painful (the guy that did this one has had multiple other cases of botched attempts on other death row inmates).

It's extremely messed up. To save money they've moved from a combo of sedative and potassium (the part that kills you) to just a massive dose of sedative (hoping it'll be enough to put you into respiratory failure).

It’s absolutely fucking WILD that this was committed to writing, given that every Muslim and pro-Palestinian who appeared in the media from late 2023 onwards was asked whether they supported Hamas and required to renounce terrorism.

Asking Jews to pass a purity test and renounce self-determination according to a perverse interpretation arbitrarily applied, isn't just an extreme position, it's a racist one.

That's before we consider the Green party is now backing violent dismantling of Israel.

I try not to use the term when others are more appropriate, but this is just gaslighting. Most of Gaza is destroyed to bulldozed rubble and nobody who matters is even speaking up about it, because they know what would happen to them and their careers if they do.

The Green Party's decision to equate Zionism with racism is shameful. Jewish self-determination is not racism. We can challenge the Israeli government and defend Palestinian rights without denying that principle.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has called the vandalism of several statues in Parliament Square, including one of women's votes campaigner Dame Millicent Fawcett, "disgraceful".

Ch Supt Stuart Bell, who was leading the policing operation for the protest, said: "It is very disappointing to see damage to seven statues and property in the vicinity of the protest today.
"We support the public's right to protest but criminality like this is completely unacceptable."
A spokesperson for Women and Equalities Minister Bridget Phillipson, speaking on the damage to Dame Millicent's statue, said she "utterly condemns the appalling defacement of such an important national monument to the fight for women's rights"
"There is no excuse for this disgraceful criminal damage."
The Met confirmed it is also dealing with a number of complaints from the public about signs and images shared on social media that were reportedly displayed at the protest yesterday and "action will be taken if there are signs displayed that breach of the law"
