the bar for stripping people of citizenship is extremely high. It’s identical to that required for a criminal conviction. Beyond a reasonable doubt, citizenship procured by fraud. You don’t launch an investigation *with the goal of* getting there.

That's where I've been for a while. We can't even reach questions about the death penalty itself because we fail essential predicates such as "fair and consistent criminal justice system" and "reliable death penalty verdicts that leave no reasonable doubt" and, as shown tonight, "humane execution."

Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.
A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind
Broadsheets are the future

Many people think this but it's not true! Data centers are a small rounding error compared to agriculture. And it pains me that this is the case as a golf hater but golf no longer consumes meaningful amounts of water as most courses in the southwest have switched to graywater irrigation

It is incredible how far-right conservatives laud free markets but then, in effect, argue against the supposed correction behavior within free markets—consumer choice punishing bad corporate behavior—when it negative impacts corporate profit.
Anti-transparency is a fundamental pillar of right-wing politics. The right of powerful people to do as they please is only useful if it’s free of consequences, and the only way to assure that is if no one knows what they’re doing. Clarence Thomas has spent decades arguing that disclosure laws are unconstitutional, and has increasingly pulled his conservative colleagues to his side. Transparency, he worries, could lead to “reprisals” from an angry public.

On the one hand, this whole thing is fairly funny tempest in a teapot. On the other hand, it’s genuinely not good that one political party is close to saying that a government official asking citizens to make any sacrifice (no matter how minor) for the broader good is communism.

/4. Fourth: Advocacy does have a moral component. Lying about law and history in an effort to make millions of people stateless is not “doing law the right way.” The notion that advocacy is morally neutral or even inherently good if performed according to cultural ritual remains vapid and harmful.

Speaking as a Jew living in Diaspora, who needs to exist as a minority at a time of rising antisemitism, I would really appreciate it if the Prime Minister of a country where I do not live would not say that attacks on a sovereign country are analogous to attacks on a synagogue.
Tweet from the Prime Minister of Israel: "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

Antisemitism knows no limits or boundaries.

Israel is attacked because it is the Jewish state. Temple Israel in Detroit was attacked today because it is a Jewish house of worship."
