bagworm cocoons aren't a great sign for the well-being of my local trees but I can't help but be so impressed by them, such great design, just marvelous

gray moth cocoon dangling from a twig on a tree along the sidewalk. It is vaguely cone-shaped, with vegetation attached to the sides to camouflage it from predators and parasites, like a neat art piece inspired by natural elements.

Indianapolis used to have a sousaphone that went all the way from Carmel to downtown, but it's gone now. First, the player pianos threatened it, but the punched paper rolls tore easily, and people got tired of pedaling them.
