i am thinking of abandoning homeownership as a short/medium-term goal. there's only 3 ways to make this table more green: 1. sudden increase in income (unlikely) 2. area housing prices suddenly fall (vanishingly improbable) 3. sudden decrease in the cost of money (probable catastrophe)

vertical axis: initial home cost
horizontal axis: loan interest rate
