With so many people talking about Titanium Court and its weirdness, I reckon it's time for another Show & Tell thread. What Do?: Share a link & some thoughts! What About?: A game that you love and, as far as you're aware, is like nothing else you've played. Or was, and it spawned a new subgenre.

Probably the most beautiful book I own
The most beautiful book I own - probably - is The Iron Giant by Ted Hughes, a 1968 hardback. I think reading things like this as a child ‘does things’ to a person.

I don’t know, I just think “now that you’re suffering, I don’t like you, and now that you’re already on the ground, I want to kick you” is the ugliest part of human nature and the work of a life has to include recognizing and trying to destroy that impulse within oneself and broadly in one’s world

was recently asked my favorite comedies, which is a good question, and I'm not sure the answer. I think Big Lebowski is probably number 1, but after that, idk? Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Best in Show were the other two that came to mind. So let's hear your faves

alright, mastodon seems to really like this so let's see how bsky feels: "Coprime Mandala" - all numbers relatively prime to n for each radius n #math #mathart #dataart
A circular graph of coprimes. Each radius n represents the numbers 0 to n - 1 arranged in a circle like a clock, with 0 at the top. A dot is filled in if the number is relatively prime to n (their greatest common denominator is 1). This yields a curved pattern of stripes that start from the bottom and folds up toward the 0 o'clock position. There are "missing" white bands at a half turn, at third-turns, and at quarter turns. The top half consists of nearly-vertical repeated patterns while the bottom half consist of almost-square "cells"The same diagram as before with a voronoi triangulation, so instead of a dot at each number there is a cell that is shaded lighter the higher the gcd of it is with the band it's in. This leads to a skewed checkerboard pattern with stripes radiating on the outside.

yo they’re right this statement is cold 🥶
Statement from President Biden on the Passing of Henry Kissinger

BRIEFING ROOM • STATEMENTS AND RELEASES

I'm here as a fellow human to acknowledge that Dr. Kissinger has, as we know, passed on.

Dr. Kissinger was a man. Also, Dr. Kissinger was an employee of the US Government for 40 years. And when a man dies, it is sad.

All of us will die one day. In this case, it is Dr. Kissinger who has done so. Dr. Kissinger was alive for 100 years. But no more. Now he is dead.

Dr. Kissinger's wife is Nancy. They were married for 49 years. Now she is sad.

'Oh Rascal Children Of Gaza' by Palestinian poet Khaled Juma, 2014, in response to Israel killing 509 Palestinian children in 50 days.
Oh rascal children of Gaza,
You who constantly disturbed me with your screams under my window,
You who filled every morning with rush and chaos,
You who broke my vase and stole the lonely flower on my balcony,
Come back –
And scream as you want,
And break all the vases,
Steal all the flowers,
Come back,
Just come back…
